Profession of Faith Baptism

Baptism is the sign and seal of our union with the Lord Jesus. And when we are united to Jesus, we are also united to everyone else who is united to Jesus. As Paul says in 1 Cor. 12:13, “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body.”
Baptism then is how you are born into the family and kingdom of God. As Jesus says in John 3:5, “Except a man [or a little girl] be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God” (John 3:5).
Just as you were given a first, middle, and last name from your parents one the day you were born: Carlee Nadine Hall, so also in baptism which is your spiritual birthday, God marks you with His own name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And that means, from this day forward, you are first and foremost God’s child. You are a saint, a Christian, a holy one, royalty, a daughter of the Most High King who shall inherit the whole world. This is what baptism offers to you.
